Nick Gordon is fighting tooth and nail to have the lawsuit against him alleging his involvement in Bobbi Kristina Brown's murder, put aside.

According to E!Online, Gordon's attorney has filed a motion in a Fulton court asking for halting the lawsuit's proceedings until criminal investigations are complete. The plea is being supported by the argument that Gordon would become a victim of negative media attention and prejudice if civil and criminal proceedings are held simultaneously. Parallel proceedings may also leave Gordon indefensible.

Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown's 22-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown was found unconscious in a bathtub on January 31 this year. Doctors put her in a coma to treat her brain damage but the aspiring actress died before she could wake up.

The lawsuit filed by Bobbi Kristina's estate accuses Gordon of giving Bobbi Kristina a cocktail of drugs and later putting her face down in ice-cold water, damaging her brain and later causing her death. Following reports that Gordon and Bobbi Kristina had a fight before she was found unconscious at her Georgia home, Gordon revealed he 'reviewed' video footage on that day, indicating that there could be evidence to uncover what had happened. Nick Gordon has maintained his innocence on all instances.

Meanwhile, the Fulton County Medical Examiner reportedly identified and classified the cause of Bobbi Kristina's death, which could be crucial in the investigation. Details however were not revealed on the instructions of a Fulton County Superior Court.
