The MyNBA2K16 for iTunes and Android has received early positive reviews. The basketball game, which is available via the iTunes App store, Google Play Store and Amazon App Store for free for people who have pre-ordered the game for Xbox One, PS4 and Windows PCs, allows gamers to bring their basketball experience with them everywhere.

According to 2K Games, MyNBA2K16, which features Paul George of the Indiana Pacers as the official mascot, the app works on the iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. However, these devices must be running iOS 7.0 or a later update to be able to download the companion app. The game also runs on androids.

Through the app, gamers will be able to collect MyTeam cards in order to unlock "more animations and faster gameplay." On top of cards, players can collect virtual currency by either purchasing or earning through the game. VC can be used to improve overall gaming experience as well.

Touch Arcade wrote:

"The app lets you earn a ton of NBA 2K16 Virtual Currency by using the app, and playing the card game in the app. From what we hear, the VC you earn in MyNBA2K16 is quite lucrative to help you out in the console game. Do make sure to link your NBA 2K16 account to the app to get the rewards, though.

The bulk of MyNBA2K16 is an Ultimate Team-style card game where you build up a team of basketball players, enhancing and increasing their stats to win in card games against other players, which help net you those VC rewards to help you in NBA 2K16."

NBA 2K16 is available for purchase for $59.99 on these devices: Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3 and PS4. The Michael Jordan edition is not available for Xbox 360 and PS3.
