A high school teacher met his tragic end by a shark attack as he went spearfishing with his friends on a beach in South Australia, as reported by daily mail. Sam Kellet, the victim of the fatal shark attack was killed on Goldsmith Beach, west of Adelaide.

According to a report by Adelaide Now, the shark was 5 meters long as told to the coroner in an inquest. The friends recounted the horrific tale of how Kellet was thrashed by a shark where he was swimming. After a while, all that could be seen was a pool of red blood and the spear gun that the shark left behind. He was in this region as he prepared for the Freedive competition Yorke Peninsula scheduled to happen next day.

As reported by Sut Beat, the group originally planned to free dive at Chinamans Hat Island in Innes National Park. However, they were moved to the Goldsmith Beach after there was a bush fire warning that was issued by the authorities. The group of friends were at the Goldsmith Beach for the last few hours when it became windy, forcing them to get back to their cars. This is when they heard the screams. Witness say that they did not see Sam Kellet but a shark that was thrashing in the same location where Kellet was last seen. Another witness, in his affidavit, confirms seeing a shark who attacked Sam, leaving a trail of his own blood behind.

Fellow witness, Nicholas Carson said that he was directly behind the shark when the attack happened and was about 25 meters away from Mr. Kellet. He also claimed to have seen the whole body of the shark jump out of the water and it was about 5 m long gray in color, reported Mirror.
