Are the New York Giants looking to add some veterans to their lineup?

During the team's Tuesday workouts, they reportedly hosted former Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks, receiver Wes Welker and tight end Chris Cooley, Josina Anderson of ESPN reported. There were several other unsigned players in attendance as well.

The 27-year-old Nicks, who played for the Giants between 2009 and 2013, spent the summer with the Tennessee Titans. He was cut during the final roster reduction. Nicks has reportedly drawn interest from the New Orleans Saints and the Dallas Cowboys. However, no deals have been struck. In his career, he has made 349 receptions for 5,027 yards and 31 touchdowns.

Welker, 34, who most recently played for the Denver Broncos, failed to find a team during the offseason due to his history of concussions. He has played for three NFL teams over the time span of 11 years. His career numbers are 890 receptions for 9,822 yards and 50 touchdowns.

Cooley, 33, was with the Washington Redskins from 2004 to 2012. In his nine-year career, he caught 429 passes for 4,711 yards and 22 touchdowns. In 2013, Cooley retired from the game to become an analyst. Cooley has reportedly kept himself in shape and is ready for a second chance in the league.

The Giants, who currently have five receivers and three tight ends on their roster, usually host about a dozen players in their Tuesday tryout sessions. Although the chances that these three players will make it on the roster are slim, it is still interesting to see who the Giants are looking at.

The Giants, who are 1-2, will be taking on the Buffalo Bills (2-1) on Sunday.
