Michael Vick will get another chance to start for an NFL team.

The veteran and Pittsburgh Steelers' No. 2 quarterback will be filling in for Ben Roethlisberger, who injured his left knee in Sunday's 12-6 win against the St. Louis Rams. Big Ben is expected to miss four to six weeks with an MCL sprain and a bone bruise. In the meantime, the Steelers need Vick and the rest of the offense to hold down the fort.

"I've got plenty of confidence; I feel like this is what I was born to do," Vick, 35, said. "I'm not a young guy anymore; I'm a seasoned veteran. It's a short week, but we're all professionals. Just got to get in [Monday] and grind. It's still my normal routine."

He added, "Ben's a guy we all look up to in this locker room, but I was brought here for a reason. I've just got to hold the spot until Ben comes back."

Even though Vick might be confident, his most recent numbers are not good. Last year, Vick had the worst quarterback rating (21.4 percent) in the league out of 42 quarterbacks who made at least 100 pass attempts. In his last 19 starts, he went 6-13.Since the Steelers' offense is packed with talent, Vick might record better numbers over these next few weeks.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com wrote:

"But his poor supporting cast with the Jets contributed to those numbers. He has probably never had weapons like he has now. Todd Haley can draw up creative running plays while asking Vick to make 20-25 quality throws a game. Vick can handle that.

Le'Veon Bell returns from suspension at the perfect time. He got 26 touches against St. Louis (including seven receptions), and that volume could increase in the next few weeks. The Steelers can use DeAngelo Williams as a viable No. 2."

Vick went 5-for-6 for 38 yards this past Sunday when he entered the game during the third quarter.

"The thing about him is, you don't get a sense of nervousness about him," tackle Ramon Foster said reported by the Washington Post. "He's very calm. We're banking on him. He's acting like a pro, and with a full week [of practice as the starter] under his belt, he can handle the situation. It's our job to make him comfortable."

The Steelers will be hosting the Baltimore Ravens (0-3) on Thursday night at 8:25 p.m.
