If you are a vegetarian, then you know what you should do on Fish Amnesty Day 2015. The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) started the day to coincide with National Hunting and Fishing Day, which falls on the same date, according to Giftypedia.

Explaining that fish possess a "complex neurochemical system," the Fish Amnesty Day was born about 20 years ago to make people aware that fish are living animals. Fish too have rights and need to be protected, according to PETA, which does not make any difference between fish and other vertebrates.

PETA also wants to make people aware that if they are vegetarians, they should include fish in the foods included for banning. Fish Amnesty day aims to convert near vegetarians who have given up meat but are still eating seafood. PETA is trying to stoke people who are near-vegetarians to become fully vegetarian, according to HNGN.

Usually vegetarians do not stop eating fish, or would include this species as the last to be cut off from their diets. Some even think that fish are not worthy and do not have feelings.

But sushi lovers too can find vegetarian alternatives, according to PETA.
