Tom Hardy has his share of awkward moment while promoting his upcoming gangster film Legend when asked about his sexuality in such a grandiose gathering as the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).

"That really, really annoyed me," Hardy tells EW during a sit-down interview. "It was just the inelegance of being asked in a room full of people. [...] Now I'm happy to have a conversation, a discussion, at a reasonable time about anything. I'm confident in my own sexuality, and I'm also confident in my own being and talking about any issue you want to talk about it. But there is a time and a place for that," the British actor told Entertainment Weekly in a special interview.

The question on sexuality has been pulled off by one interviewer from LGBT news outlet Daily Xtra who wants to find out any parallels between him and the openly-gay Ronald Cray, the role he played in the gangster film.

After confirming that the reporter really means to throw the question at him, the Mad Max actor simply said, "Why?" and then proceeded with an abrupt "Thank you," ending their conversation.

Directed by Brian Helgeland, Legend explores the lives of the two notorious twin bisexual British brothers, Ronnie and Reggie Kray and their gang The Firm. The Krays have been part of the British folklore as they terrorized East London in the 50s and 60s with their hideous crimes including armed robberies, drug trafficking, rape and murder among others.

In a separate interview with The Daily Beast, Marlon Stern brought up that annoying moment at the TIFF further asking his opinion on celebrities' right to privacy.

"I think everybody is entitled to the right to privacy. There should be elegant ways to approach any topic, and there's a time and place to approach anything and have a good, common sense conversation about anything. I do think that there's a responsibility for people to own the way that they speak publicly. This doesn't stop us from being human beings; some things are private. I'm under no obligation to share anything to do with my family, my children, my sexuality-that's nobody's business but my own," he shared.

In the lighter side of things, the 38-year old revealed his fondness for dogs and how these creatures inspired him in his performances, Vanity Fair reported.

"I do think there's a lot about a dog that we can learn from. And I do put the dog into a lot of my characters because a dog, if you watch them, they're so funny to watch. They speak with their eyes and their body, and I find that fascinating to observe," he said.
