Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are allegedly consulting a transgender expert for their young daughter, Shiloh.

According to the rumors, the Hollywood couple is hoping that the expert will be able to tell if their nine-year-old is transgender so that they can better help and support her.

"Brad and Angie have been doing everything possible to protect her from being bullied by her peers and outsiders," an insider told RadarOnline. "They have also been gently setting the tone for how their five other children interact with Shiloh."

The insider added, "After seeking out professional advice on how to help Shiloh, Brad and Angelina were told to let her dress however she wanted. This has been an opportunity for fun in the family, because Vivienne and Zahara love to dress up in their mother's clothes. The kids are constantly putting on plays for their parents, and Shiloh often directs with Pax."

Jolie and Pitt have talked about Shiloh's identity in the past.

In 2008, Pitt told Oprah Winfrey that she only likes to be called "John."

"She only wants to be called John. John or Peter," Pitt said. "So it's a Peter Pan thing. So we've got to call her John. 'Shi, do you want ...' - 'John. I'm John.' And then I'll say, 'John, would you like some orange juice?' And she goes, 'No!"

In 2011, Jolie revealed to Vanity Fair that Shiloh prefers male clothing and is not very girly.

"She likes to dress like a boy. She wants to be a boy. So we had to cut her hair. She likes to wear boys' everything. She thinks she's one of the brothers."

Ever since these comments, people have been speculating whether or not Shiloh could be transgender. In 2014, many noticed that Shiloh chose to wear a suit like her brothers, Maddox and Pax, to the premiere of "Unbroken," a movie directed by Jolie.

Regardless of Shiloh's fashion choices, the source from Radar added that Angelina and Brad are very supportive of their children.
