Kristen Stewart Talks About Moving Forward; Urges Not To Ignore One's Heart

Kristen Stewart talks about how to be progressive and futuristic at the Toronto International Film Festival during the screening of her new sci-fi flick, Equal.

"I think the only way to be truly progressive and truly move forward is to not ignore your heart and your feelings," the actress said told People with co-star Nicholas Hoult.

The actress' response is part of her reflection on her character in the movie who suffers from SOS, Switched On Syndrome, a health disorder which will make them feel for the first time.

The movie is set in a distant future with human conditioned not to feel any emotions anymore.

"We've stifled every emotion, anything to do with anger, fear. We're completely neutralized. So it definitely begs the question, would you even get out of bed? Would you exist anymore? Probably not," the Twilight star talks about the film.

Stewart's much publicized cheating scandal and breakup with Twilight costar Robert Pattinson in 2012 has been pointed out as a very life-changing events that she had managed to conquer with her moving forward to who she is now, Enstarz said.

You go through something a little too hard and the first instinct is always, 'I hate this, I don't want this.' If I could just not feel this way,'" she once said in a previous interview.

The award-winning actress has since moved on and has been in a relationship with her personal assistant Alicia Cargile.

In a previous interview with Mirror, the star's mom, Jules Stewart, expressed her approval and support for Kristen's relationship with her girlfriend.

"What's not to be accepting about her now having a girlfriend? She's happy. She's my daughter, I'm just her mom so she knows I would accept her choices. I've met Kristen's new girlfriend, I like her. What's not to accept? She's a lovely girl."
