Restricted free agent Tristan Thompson reportedly will not be attending LeBron James' voluntary training camp in Miami, the Northeast Ohio Media Group reported according to ESPN.

Thompson, 24, is currently in the middle of a contract dispute with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Earlier reports claimed that Thompson would not sign for anything less than a max contract.

If a deal does not get finalized, he would end up agreeing to a one-year qualifying offer and then hit unrestricted free agency in 2016 when the salary cap is expected to increase. However, Thompson's agent, Rich Paul, who also represents James, stated that if Thompson does not get a max contract, he would not remain in Cleveland after the season. Rumors are claiming that Paul wants to bring Thompson back home to Canada where he would play for the Toronto Raptors.

James has been vocal about the importance of keeping Thompson in Cleveland. During the postseason, Thompson filled in for an injured Kevin Love and performed beyond expectations. He averaged 9.6 points and 10.8 rebounds.

In the offseason, the Cavaliers have re-signed James, Love, Iman Shumpert, James Jones and J.R. Smith. They also brought in veteran Mo Williams and Richard Jefferson.

James' training will begin on Saturday. Players who have been invited and will attend include Kyrie Irving, Love, Shumpert, Smith, Jones, Williams, Jefferson, Anderson Varejao, Joe Harris and Sasha Kaun.
