Caitlyn Jenner will admit that she has had a much easier transition than many in the transgender community, but she might be up against a prison sentence for a car accident earlier this year that killed one woman.

It was in February that her car met the one in front of her on the Pacific Coast Highway, making it fall in the way of an oncoming Hummer. The 69-year-old Kim Howe was killed.

"A tragedy like this you'll never get over it, you just learn to live with it the best you possibly can," the 65-year-old reality star told "Today" co-anchor Matt Lauer in an interview that aired on Wednesday.

Now she might be put in prison in a male rather than a female prison, as she is a transgender. Even as the case is in litigation, she may not be able to talk much about it.

"[Going to jail] is the worst-case scenario... the men's county jail," she said. "It is an enormous problem that they would put trans women in the men's county jail, but those are things we are looking into."

Having completed its investigation of the four-car accident last month, the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Office might recommend to the court that Jenner be charged with "a misdemeanor violation for involuntary manslaughter," said sources.

The "I Am Cait" star was not drunk but was speeding at an unsafe rate, as per CNN, even though it was under the speed limit.

"I was under the speed limit - I was doing 46 in a 50," Jenner told Lauer. "My airbag didn't even go off. All I needed was probably a half a second of time [to stop]... I couldn't quite get [the car] stopped," according to hngn.

The second part of Lauer's interview with Jenner will be telecast on Thursday morning on "Today."
