Google is rolling out a new update to its navigating software, Google Maps, to include slew of new features such as helpful tips, weather info and local time of the destination.

Google is a massive knowledge-base and never disappoints you when asked about anything. Now, the web giant is sharing that knowledge with its popular navigation software for mobile, Google Maps. In the latest update version 9.1, Google is looking to enlighten you with more knowledge about the searched destination.

In a teardown report by Android Police, Google Maps for Android sports series of new improvements that will make navigation more interesting. In addition to giving a route for a particular place, Maps will also show current weather, local time along with some fun facts about the destination. Android Police concludes this based on strings of code appeared in the APK teardown.

In addition to that, updated Maps will also respond to users' voice commands to show or hide traffic, a feature that was lacking in previous updates.

"There are also a handful of strings related to rerouting and unexpected delays, indicating that Maps will show users exactly how much time can be saved by rerouting, and alert them to various "route-around" situations like road closures. Strings also indicate alerts regarding transit schedule changes, accounting for early or late arrivals," the publication explained.

Google has constantly updated its services to offer great services to its users. Though it isn't clear if Google is rolling out the update over-the-air, users can always find the download link on Android Police's site to get these features.

The company previously added the most-awaited Material Design to match the Android Lollipop interface. It also unifies Maps on Android and iOS devices for a seamless experience. Last month, Google also added new option to make restaurant reservations from within the app for U.S. mobile users and also an estimate cost if looking to take an Uber ride.
