Scientists Use #CuteOff to find the World's Most Adorable Animals: Here Are 9 Superbly Squee Shots

Scientists are starting to have fun with social media. In their most recent venture onto the World Wide Web, biologists are asking people on Twitter to tweet them an image of a cute animal using the hashtag, #cuteoff. Ever since the hashtag took off, there have been a lot of very adorable pictures of animals, both large and small, on the feed.

Here are some of the cutest pictures (a lot of these pictures include baby animals or extremely tiny little creatures):




The biologists started this hashtag because they wanted to increase awareness about the diversity of living things, such as insects, reptiles and birds. Many of the tweets were sent by scientists throughout the world who are studying these animals.

The hashtag also recommends people to tweet images of their pets at home.
