Fans waiting for the eighth installment of the "Fast and Furious" franchise will have to wait a little bit longer. According to a Deadline report, Vin Diesel's busy schedule for another movie might cause a delay in the production for "Fast 8."

Diesel announced via social media that he will be starring in his third "xXx" movie. Production for that movie is expected to start in December in the Philippines.

Diesel had written back in late August, "While I was filming XXX, guys on set called me Air Diesel... The time to return has come. Filming starts December in the Philippines."

Depending on how long it will take to film "xXx: The Return of Xander Cage," "Fast 8" might have to be pushed back. However, there have been no official word in regards to a potential delay.

There are currently no plot details available for "Fast 8" but there have a lot of cast rumors. These rumors have linked Helen Mirren, Cara Delevingne, Ruby Rose to the film. The rumors also claimed that Eva Mendes, Jason Statham, Kurt Russell and Cody Walker would be reprising their roles. Walker, however, could be returning as a whole new character. Walker had filled in for his older brother, Paul, after Paul unexpectedly died in a car accident.

Michelle Rodriguez, Dwayne Johnson, Tyrese Gibson, and Ludacris are expected to star in the movie. Jordana Brewster, however, might not be coming back. Brewster's character, Mia, and Paul's character, Brian O'Conner left to focus on their family at the very end of "Furious 7."

"Fast 8" is scheduled to be released on April 14, 2017.
