George R.R. Martin continues to tease fans about the plot of his sixth book, "Winds of Winter."

The author behind the series, "A Song of Ice and Fire," which "Games of Thrones" is based on, attended the Sasquan science-fiction convention in Spokane, Washington. While at the event, he read a chapter from his upcoming book, "Winds of Winter."

According to GeekWire, the chapter was written from the point of view of Arianne Martell, the Princess of Dorne. Since Princess Arianne has not been introduced in the HBO series, fans were quick to speculate who she is and what role she will be playing.

In the series, Princess Arianne is the eldest daughter of Prince Dorane of Dorne. She is the heiress of Sunspear and was supposed to marry Viserys Targaryen. In the books, "A Clash of Kings" and "A Storm of Swords," she welcomes Myrcella Baratheon, the daughter of Cersei and Jamie Lannister.

(Spoilers Alert*) Since "Games of Thrones" writers killed Myrcella in season five, the Lannisters could be seeking revenge. Even though Cersei has hit a new low with her walk of shame, she is bound to want to avenge her daughter. Princess Arianne could then play a huge role in season six. The writers could also continue to leave Princess Arianne out of the show.

In Martin's plot, Princess Arianne goes on a journey with her sworn shield Ser Daemon Sand and her cousin Elia Sand to uncover what happened to Aegon Targaryen.

During the event, Martin did not say why Princess Arianne has not shown up in the TV show. He also did not provide a release date for "Winds of Winter."

"Don't ask me when the book is going to be done - I'll ask my minions to lop your head off," he joked.

"Winds of Winter" has been rumored to be released before the start of season six of "Games of Thrones," which typically premieres in March/April. The only thing that fans know so far about "Winds of Winter" is that there might be a plot twist for a major character. Fans are hoping that Jon Snow, who died in the season five finale, will be brought back to life in the book.
