Drake Serena Williams Updates: Canadian Rapper Did Not Get Approval From William's Friends

Drake and Serena Williams famous smooch at a Cincinnati restaurant after her Women's Tennis Association (WTA) tournament on Sunday has gained ample attention from the athlete's friends.

A report from TMZ said that William's friends have warned her not to get too serious with the Canadian rapper as she might be hurt again.

It can be remembered that in 2011, the two had a brief hookup but the new source said that it did not last long as Drake "had his eyes on a few other chicks at the same time."

Sources close to Drake, however, assured that this time would be different as the hiphop artist treated her with more respect now and that he is not dating her for her fame.

Drake has also been spotted in Serena Williams previous tournaments to cheer on her.

The smooch at the fancy Cincinatti eatery may just be just the icing of the cake as another source from Mail Online via Mirror said that they have actually been dating for quite some time.

"Publicly she says they're just friends but Drake has been by Serena's side throughout the tournament and when they've been away from the public and relaxed, it's been pretty obvious that they are together," the source said.

The source further said that WTA superstar has been keeping it private and talking about their relationship among close friends.

"Even Serena's team have been talking about it in the clubhouse to a few people they trust."

Meanwhile, some sources speculated that the 33-year old athlete is more focused on the upcoming US opens and that she and Drake are just friends, News.com.au said.

"Serena briefly dated Drake around 2011 and even though it didn't end that well, they have remained friends since. He has been at her side at a lot of tournaments recently, including Wimbledon in July, where he sat in her box next to her sister Venus. Serena is single at the moment and is focused on winning the US Open, and making history," a source said.
