Is George R.R. Martin, the author behind the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series, already working on the seventh and last book of the series? The HBO medieval drama, "Games of Thrones" is based on the series.

Based from the titles of the sixth and seventh books, "Winds of Winter" and "A Dream of Spring," respectively, some people are speculating that in the sixth book, which has not been released yet, the White Walkers (the Others) will break down The Wall, which has been protecting Westeros for about 8,000 years.

Without The Wall, everyone will be forced to band together to protect and save Westeros. Some of the rumors are claiming that Daenerys Targaryen and her dragons will come to the rescue. However, since "Winds of Winter" has not been released, everything is still speculation.

The only fact that fans know about "Winds of Winter" so far is that there might be a plot twist for a major character. The plot twist is also supposed to affect three or four other characters as well.

Martin also teased that the ending of the series will be "bittersweet," like the ending of J.R. Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy.

Martin recently acknowledged the possibility that the TV show will be finished before he finishes "A Dream of Spring." He stated that he has come to terms with the fact that he might not have a say in the how the series will end.

"The show is moving forward like a locomotive, or sometimes a jet locomotive. They're writing 60-page scripts, I'm writing 1,500-page novels," he said reported by GeekWire. "There was a period where I was worried about that. Then I said, to hell with that. Worrying about it isn't going to change it one way or another. I still sit down at the typewriter, and I have to write the next scene and the next sentence...I'm just going to tell my story, and they're telling their story and adapting my books, and we shall see."

Martin has also stated that so far, he has no idea how he is going to end the series.

"Winds of Winter" has been rumored to be released before the start of season six of "Games of Thrones."
