Is Scott Disick desperate for attention now that he is not longer linked to the Kardashian family?

The reality TV star, who dated Kourtney Kardashian and fathered three children with her, has allegedly asked to join the ABC dancing competition show, "Dancing With The Stars."

"He really wants to do it because it would allow him to make money, be close to the kids and show the world he isn't such a wildcard that he has made himself out to be," a source told Hollywoodlife.com. "He wants to show that he actually wants to change his ways and show Kourtney the man she fell in love with. Since Dancing will not be getting Caitlyn (Jenner) they have reached out to others in the Kardashian clan and Scott is high on their radar."

"Scott really misses the kids! He realizes how much his kids need him," the source continued. "This is his family. Scott wants his family back. He wants Kourtney back. He's really having second thoughts about everything and feels like he's most likely throwing away the most important thing in his life - his family."

If Disick joins the cast, the show's producers will have to be prepared for Disick's bad boy ways. Even though Disick is supposedly trying to change his lifestyle, his history shows that he tends to revert back to his old ways.

Disick most recently attended Brody Jenner's birthday bash at Hollywood's Warwick nightclub on Aug. 12. None of the Kardashians, who are Jenner's step-siblings, attended the festivities. The Celebrity Big Brother House is rumored to be interested in adding Disick as well.

The Kardashians have a history of appearing on the show. Kim Kardashian West competed in season seven and younger brother, Rob Kardashian competed in season 14. Rob, who was partnered with Cheryl Burke, made it all the way to second place.

"Dancing With The Stars" will enter season 21 on Sept. 14.
