Since Vin Diesel confirmed the eighth installment of the "Fast and Furious" franchise, there have been several rumors about the cast, especially after Paul Walker's untimely death.

The latest rumors surround up and coming actress, Cara Delevingne. According to a report on EnStarz, the "Paper Towns" actress could potentially play another member of the Toretto family now that Mia (Jordana Brewster) might be out of the picture.

*Spoilers Alert* In the end of "Furious 7," Mia left town with Brian O'Connor, the character that Walker played. Walker died unexpectedly before "Furious 7" was completed. His brother, Cody Walker, had filled in for him. There were rumors that Cody could either reprise the role of O'Connor or get his own character in the next movie.

Aside from playing a member of the Toretto family, the report added that Delevingne allegedly wants to play a villain. Could she be joining Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham)? If Delevingne joins the cast, she would be reuniting with her former flame, Michelle Rodriguez, who plays Letty.

Shaw was the villain in "Furious 7" and the rumors are claiming that he will be back for next movie. This time around, however, Shaw could be teaming up with Dom Toretto (Diesel) instead. However, plot details of the next movie, set in New York, are still very unclear.

Other rumors have claimed that Eva Mendes could be reprising her role as Special Agent Monica Fuentes. She would play Dom's love interest.

In other news, production on the film appears to have started. Diesel posted a picture of him with Kurt Russell on Instagram. The caption accompanied with the picture read, "Toretto Tuesday..."

The picture also seemingly confirmed that Russell, who played Mr. Nobody in "Furious 7," will be returning. Russell previously hinted that his character will be in the franchise for more than one film.

"I got an idea, a sense of what Vin maybe wants to do in the future that this character [Mr. Nobody] could be a good part of," Russell had said in an interview with Jimmy Kimmel.

The film currently does not have a director yet. Neal Moritz, the producer, stated that the team is currently focused on the screenplay.

"Fast and Furious 8" will be released on April 15, 2017.
