A 32-year-old Spanish man tragically died after being gored by a bull on Sunday during a bull run in a small town. The incident took place in the town of Villaseca de la Sagra, which is among many Spanish towns that host the traditional event, The Guardian reported.

The mayor of Villaseca de la Sagra Jesus Hijosa said in a statement: "The young man was on the path of the bull run which he was filming with his mobile phone. A bull surprised him from behind and gored him in the neck."

Sunday's tragic incident is not the first of its kind for the small Spanish town. During the bull run in 2010, another young man had lost his life after being attacked by a bull.

All across Spain, there are several towns, where traditional bull run takes place every year. The Bull run of Pamplona is probably the most famous one, partly due to Ernest Hemingway's 1926 novel The Sun Also Rises, which takes place in Pamplona and captures the festival.

Every year Spanish bull run festivals attract thousands of thrill-seeking local and foreign tourists. The Guardian reports that since 1911 there have been only 15 casualties during the bull runs in the city of Pamplona, which is a relatively small number, given how dangerous the bulls are and how many people attend the runs.

"This sends shivers down our spine...we organize these events as a tradition, so that people can enjoy them, but these things happen. Bulls are dangerous animals and when there are a lot of people some don't pay attention...you have to have your wits about you," the mayor Hijosa said in a statement, The Guardian reported.
