Buzz Aldrin Claimed $ 33 Expenses During Apollo 11 Moon Mission

Buzz Aldrin claimed $ 33. 31 from the government as travel expenses for his Apollo 11 trip to the moon.

Aldrin posted photos of the claims voucher and customs form in a Twitter post. His travel expenses voucher itemised the expense and also mentions a 'government spacecraft' to describe aircraft and automobiles used on the trip, NDTV reports. The expenses pertain to costs incurred while travelling between airports before the take off.

Aldrin's customs forms has Neil Armstrong and Lt. Colonel Michael Collins signature, besides his own.

"Yes the Apollo11 crew also signed customs forms. We brought back moon rocks & moon dust samples. Moon disease to be determined," Aldrin tweeted. The form was filled was Honolulu Airport in Hawaii.

A few days before he tweeted the forms, Aldrin also posted images of the Apollo 11 crew going into quarantine.

"Crew went into quarantine we had to get into BIG suits - Biological Isolation Garments," the tweet reads.

Apollo 11 landed July 20, 1969. The three-man crew aboard the spaceflight were the first humans to land on the moon.
