The fate of Netflix original, sci-fi series, "Sense8," has remained up in the air after weeks of rumors that the show will be renewed for season 2.

Despite no announcement yet from Netflix, the co-creator of the hit show, J. Michael Straczynski revealed that the show has a five-year story arc, which means that there will be more seasons to come if Netflix decides to keep it around.

Straczynski seemed optimistic about the show's future after attending San Diego Comic-Con. He said that he had talked to a Netflix representative about how positive the Netflix audience has responded to the show and expects a renewal announcement within the next few weeks.

The show did not receive good reviews at first with many critics complaining that the plot was too complex and hard to follow. The critics also did not like how the episodes were structured. However, after early bad reviews, the show became a surprised hit. It has received a lot of positive reviews and scored relatively high on different websites, such as Rotten Tomatoes (69%), IMDB (8.5/10) and Metacritic (63%). The show also already has a devoted fan base.

"Sense8" is about eight people who have been reborn into sensates. The characters, who all reside in different parts of the world and are from varying cultures, have the ability to use each other's knowledge and skills.

The 12-episode series was released on June 5.
