Chinese manufacturers are coming out with the latest rollout of OnePlus 2, following last year's OnePlus One.

In the early part of 2015, the buzz was that the China-based company is aiming for the latter part of 2015---either September or October, to launch an unprecedented new device to compete with new flagships from other manufacturers, such as Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and iPhone from Apple. The company's co-founder, Carl Pei, confirmed that the release would be in the third quarter of the year, according to christiantoday.

However, even as things are seen to be moving towards the end, OnePlus will be releasing earlier than expected. Hence, following an exclusive "virtual-reality presentation", the OnePlus 2 will be launched on July 27. The official OnePlus blog, especially from those with virtual reality headsets such as the OnePlus Cardboards, would look at the positive side of the VR presentation launch. Others without the time to watch the keynote can download a "proprietary app" and watch the release much later.

So what's so unique about the upcoming OnePlus 2? It is said to be bigger and better than its earlier avatar, which was launched last year as a "premium smartphone killer." The specs of the One were offered a slightly higher price. The company's target is to be equal to or overshoot the hopes of fans, with OnePlus 2. Its 4 GB of RAM and an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor is usually used in other high-end smartphones too.

The earlier partner Cyanogen, has been cut off, so OnePlus 2 is running on the HydrongenOS (in China) and OxygenOS in the world market, based on the Android 5.1 Lollipop firmware. Check out more features in ibtimes.
