The feud between Lil Wayne and his record label, Cash Money Records, co-owned by Bryan "Birdman" Williams continues to get worse. TMZ is reporting that Birdman has filed a $50 million lawsuit against Tidal for streaming Lil Wayne's mixtape, which he exclusively released on the streaming music service.

Cash Money Records is arguing that they have the exclusive right to Lil Wayne's album, "Free Weezy Album." The company claimed that Tidal violated their rights to the rapper's music before adding that the release of the mixtape was "a desperate and illegal attempt to save their struggling streaming service."

In response to the lawsuit, Tidal has stated that Lil Wayne offered the mixtape in exchange for a share of the company. Cash Money Records claims that Lil Wayne's contract forbids him from licensing his music to other parties with the label's consent. Cash Money Records is asking for $20 million in compensatory damages and $30 million in punitive damages.

Tidal is co-owned by several artists who include Lil Wayne, Beyoncé and Alicia Keys. Jay Z, who heads the service, launched it in March. The mixtape, released on July 3, included 16 songs that Cash Money Records did not release.

Lil Wayne and Birdman's business relationship was strained after the company allegedly refused to pay Lil Wayne money for "Tha Carter V." Lil Wayne field a $51 million lawsuit against Cash Money. In the lawsuit, Lil Wayne is also requesting to be freed from the label.

Lil Wayne also blamed the label for the delay of his album.

Birdman and rapper, Young Thug, have been linked to being a part of a plan to murder Lil Wayne. The two were named in the 30-count indictment from the Jimmy Carlton Winfrey case. Winfrey allegedly shot at Lil Wayne's tour buses back in April.
