Joni Mitchell's friend and former partner David Crosby recently shared updates on the singer-songwriter's health condition saying that she is 'not speaking yet' after a brain surgery in an interview with HuffPost Live.

According to BBC, Crosby, who has not spoken to the Canadian singer after the incident, confirmed that Mitchell's collapse on March 31 in her Los Angeles home is caused by aneurysm

"She took a terrible hit. She had an aneurysm, and nobody found her for a while. And she's going to have to struggle back from it the way you struggle back from a traumatic brain injury. To my knowledge, she is not speaking yet," he said during the show.

The website never mentioned exactly the cause of the singer's collapse and has denied that she is in a state of coma.

Days after her confinement in a hospital, her official website announced that she is "resting comfortably" and continued to "improve and get stronger each day."

During the interview, the former Byrds member said that the songstress has to struggle for her recovery.

She's going to have to struggle back from it the way you struggle back from a traumatic brain injury," he said as cited in CBC News.

"We're all holding our breath and thinking a good thought, hoping that it's going to turn out okay," he added.

Joni Mitchell and David Crosby briefly dated in 1967 and has remained friends with her.

Crosby considered that the Big Yellow Taxi hitmaker to be "robably the greatest living singer/songwriter" excluding Bob Dylan in the game, ABC said.

Mitchell's hit singles that got very famous in the 60s include Big Yellow Taxi, Woodstock and Both Sides, Now.
