Animals can turn nasty in summer, and are not always even fair-weather friends, according to business-insider.

Which are the nastiest? You might immediately think of sharks, but then they kill just one human a year! This April, a shark killed a 65-year old woman in Maui coast.

On the other hand, bees are responsible for 60 deaths a year, while cows kill 20.

Every year, 20 Americans on average are killed by cows. Hence, the situation makes them 20 times more dangerous than sharks, bears, or alligators. Accidents in the workplace with farmers make them so dangerous. As the Center for Disease Control notes: "large livestock are powerful, quick, protective of their territory and offspring, and especially unpredictable during breeding and birthing periods."

Dogs too are not innocent creatures, but are known to kill humans 28 times every year in the US! Other killers include horses, pigs, and deer that finish 52 Americans per annum on average.

Check out the Washingtonpost chart here.

Other man-killers include alligators and bears, which also kill an average of one human every year. Last September, a 22-year old Rutgers student was mauled to death by a black bear in New Jersey.

Venomous snakes and lizards kill six Americans each year. Seven Americans die of spider bite.

Even non-venomous arthropods---mosquitoes, ticks, lice and mites---can kill nine Americans every year. Currently, there is a "Bourbon" virus that could be transported by ticks, after it killed a Kansas man last February, according to Bloomberg.

Insects are also deadly. You have bees, hornets, and wasps decimating 58 Americans every year on average, mostly due to anaphylactic shock after a sting. One 65-year old man in Texas, for instance, was vandalized by bees when he was mowing his lawn and accidentally bumped into a shed that was attached to a beehive. It forced the hive to fall and release a cloud of bees.

That says it all, then. Dogs, cows, bees---are all of these even your fair-weather friends?
