Organizers of the 2015 San Diego Comic Con have warned Comic Con enthusiasts visiting the event to keep their selfie sticks and other technologies away that may impede or cause harm to the device' owner or to other surrounding attendees.

"With so many people in attendance, protruding cameras and phone sticking up in the air are a definite hazard," organizers wrote in their blog Toucan as cited by NBC San Diego.

The organizers further specified technologies and devices like GoPro, apps like Meerkat and Periscope and Google Glass to be prohibited in the event.

People caught with selfie sticks will be approached by security personnel looking after the area who will advise to put or hide them away.

"If you're caught with a selfie stick, you will be asked by security to put it away and not use it at Comic-Con."

The said rule is applicable at the San Diego Convention Center premises including its outside area and in any hotel or theater hosting the show.

Other techie stuff like E-cigarettes, other vaping products or devices, and drones, including those that can take pictures are not also allowed in the area, Comic Book Source said.

These are just a few security measures that one has to take into account when attending such a big event.

Harassment and bullying incidents from other Comic Con attendees have also been reported previously.

TMS contributor Mindy Marzec discussed in her post, "I Was Sexually Harassed at Star Wars Celebration," her personal experience in dealing with a harasser who illicitly took pictures underneath her skirt using a selfie stick, The Mary Sue reports.

San Diego Comic-Con will be held on July 9-12 at the San Diego Convention Center, according to LA Times.
