Kendrick Lamar collaborated with Taylor Swift for his niece. The rapper revealed that he agreed to team up on the "1989" popstar's single, "Bad Blood" so that his niece would find him "cool."

"This is for my little niece to think I'm cool," the 27-year-old Compton native said. "I like the fact my little niece can dance to it."

Lamar also mentioned that this track was more child-friendly than any of the music he has recorded.

In regards to working with 25-year-old Swift, Lamar revealed that they worked very well together on his rap despite being from very different backgrounds.

"We just went in there and vibed out," Lamar explained.

Lamar also praised Swift's work ethic and music. He told BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac, "She's ganster man. She's hard. We had fun. She's just a cool person who makes really dope music."

Lamar recently released his album," To Pimp A Butterfly" and spoke about it with BBC.

"This album is something I thought about for a long time. What I wanted to do, what I wanted to sound like, what message I wanted to get across," Lamar said. "I spend a lot of time brainstorming an idea before I start writing. By the time I put pen to paper, I already knew how I wanted to present it to the people."

He is scheduled to make several appearances at different music festivals this summer.
