Although Hollywood actress Jennifer Aniston is known for her stunning glow and beautiful skin, she will never be caught sun-tanning anymore without sunscreen. The 46-year-old actress revealed that she gave herself an intervention a few years ago.

"I gave myself a sun-tanning intervention a few years ago, where I was basically saying, 'Let's just quit while we're ahead,'" Aniston said to PEOPLE. "I was not great as a kid with sunscreen. That's one of my big regrets."

Instead of constantly endangering her skin health, the star now uses sunscreen every single day. The actress also revealed that she is less reliant on makeup after wearing so little makeup for her role in Cake.

"When I was filming Cake, I didn't wear any makeup. I was taken aback by how nervous I got about walking outside and knowing that there was probably going to be a whole group of photographers," Aniston said. "But then I just let go and I didn't care. And over the next five weeks of shooting that, I really loved it. I wasn't attached [to makeup]. If anything, putting on makeup felt so weird."

She added, "I'm less attached to [makeup] now. And Justin [Theroux] loves me without."

Instead of wearing makeup all the time, Aniston stated that she tries to drink water frequently to keep her skin hydrated and plump.

Aniston's recent change might come as a surprise to many since she is frequently photographed sunbathing while on vacation. She also previously spoke against sunscreen.

In a 2012 interview, Aniston said, "Honestly, this is going to sound so silly-going in the sun for 20 minutes a day is really important, vitamin D, because we are now having a vitamin D deficiency because of all the S.P.F."

Aniston's interview with the magazine will be available in the June 22 issue, which hits newsstands on June 10.
