Chris Pratt Admits Feeling Impotent And Depressed On Previous Weight Gain

Chris Pratt shared some personal revelation when interviewed for July's issue of Men's Health Magazine.

According to ET Online, the 35-year old actor said that his move to gain weight for his role as the loveable and stout Andy Dwyer on Parks and Recreation had caused him serious health, emotional drawbacks.

"I was impotent, fatigued, emotionally depressed. I had real health issues that were affecting me in a major way. It's bad for your heart, your skin, your system, your spirit," he said.

The actor further said that he had been in a high-calorie diet including 'four burgers at every read' until he the results became visible and he had reached up to almost 300 pounds.

His happy relationship with wife Anna Farris, who should affection by feeding the actor heartily, also contributed to his weight gain, Hollywood Reporter said.

"I put on weight because I'd fallen in love with a woman who loved to feed her man. I was her little Hansel out in the woods and she was fattening me up to put me in the fire. It was like Momma Bear and Papa Bear. She would eat a little bit, I would eat all of mine and the rest of hers."

However, it was in 2013 when he played as a Navy SEAL in the award-winning film Zero Dark Thirty that Pratt decided to work out on his lifestyle and stop gaining weight, once and for all, Mail Online reports.

"I'd gone back and forth, lost weight for Moneyball, got fat again, then trimmed down for Zero Dark Thirty, then gained it all back again for Andy. That's when I saw Zero Dark Thirty and right after walking out I was like: "I'm going to get in shape and I'm never going to be fat again."

Chris Pratt's latest film project is his involvement in Jurassic World which hits theaters on June 12 this year.
