A longtime Hooters customer has been given the ultimate gift from a waitress - and it's not what you may expect. One man from Roswell, Ga. has been given a kidney by a Hooters waitress.

Don Thomas had been a longtime customer at his local Hooters and was friendly with the staff there. However, Thomas ran into difficult times when he lost not one, but both of his kidney's. That is when one of the waitress' stepped in to help out.

"Mariana had only been here a short time," Thomas said, according to NBC Atlanta. "I just barely knew her when she made the offer."

"I said, 'Well I have two kidneys, do you want one of mine?'" said Mariana Villarreal, a waitress at Hooters.

"My reply was, 'I will accept it,'" Don said.

Despite not knowing Thomas so well, she felt compelled to help him. Her grandmother recently passed away from kidney failure.

"I wasn't able to do anything for my grandma," Mariana said, "If [Don] can live two more years, happy as he's ever been, that's fine with me. That's not up to me. I did my part, now it's God's turn to keep him alive."

Mariana and Don will undergo surgery on Friday morning.
