Since 1990, Pope Francis has never watched a single TV program, because he had vowed 25 years ago to Virgin Mary that he would not, said the head of the Catholic church in an interview this week. according to rt.

"I have not watched television since 1990... It's a promise I made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel on the night of July 15, 1990," Pope Francis said.

Why did he make his vow? For no earthly reason, except that TV was not his "cup of tea".

Is the Pope right? No, feels the media. "It has made him look smug and out of touch - like everyone who doesn't watch TV," sighs theguardian.

In his "long and very personal interview" by the Vatican Radio channel, he confessed that journalists made him "uneasy".

To keep himself updated, he reads only the Italian daily La Repubblica for ten minutes every morning. He told a Swiss Guard in the Vatican that he should know results of the Buenos Aires football team, which the Pope famously supports.

Every night he reads a book, and then sleeps for six hours. He is aware that he is "lacking in discipline," and also found the protocol "very cold."

He does not even use the Internet. However, he does miss pizza, which is a big deal, according to the nytimes. What he remembers most from his "pre-papacy" is the long walk to a pizzeria for a good pizza!
