It's a miracle to live till 110, but more awesome that the Nebraska man, Mark Behrends, should have the time and patience to indulge his whims, according to unilad.

For instance, guzzling a beer everyday at 3 p.m. helps him to get----old! On May 16, he turned 110.

His claim isn't all that far off the mark. One study by Texas-Austin researchers in 2010 showed that moderate beer drinking can help you gain healthier living, rather than heavy or no drinking. Another study showed that red wine, which is rich in antioxidants, can slow memory loss, protect against obesity, and even benefit cardiovascular health, according to medicaldaily.

So beer is his secret to longevity. His daughter, Lois, said: "He always told everybody the reason he has lived so long is drinking one can of beer, every day at 3 p.m. He always joked that that was his medicine since he takes very little medicine."

In a phone interview with Omaha.com, Behrends said he preserves his health by staying young at heart, and has to be reminded of his age. "I don't even notice" growing old, he said.

He is officially the third oldest US man and the oldest in Nebraska. Till he was 106 he lived independently, but now he lives in the Ambassador Health facility.

For five years he renewed his driving license when he was 106, yet his family decided that it was best if he stopped driving, as his reaction time wasn't too good after turning old.

What is the key to a long, happy life?

Behrends' response was quick: "Right here," he said, pointing to his heart.
