Reese Witherspoon will be back, this time, not for mature roles but to play the role as Tinker Bell in an upcoming live-action movie Tink, a spin-off of the recent Peter Pan movie.

According to Hollywood Reporter, the 39-year old star will not only act but also the produce the live-action adaptation together with Bruna Papandrea Pacific Standard production banner.

The actress will also work with scriptwriter Victoria Strouse, who was will also be involved in other Pixar films like the Finding Nemo sequel and Finding Dory. The director for the said movies as well as their timetables are still subject to more discussions.

Like 2014's box-office hit Maleficent, Tink will focus on 'the story that you don't know' and will tell the story in the fairy's version.

However, Disney informed in advance that filmmakers of Tink will be working in a modest, midrange budget.

Meanwhile, Disney's announcement to make a live-action remake of the 1904 JM Barrie character has been threatened with another earlier announcement from Twentieth Century Fox on November last year, The Guardian said.

Disney further does not have the right to make Fox change their decision as the former does not own property or intellectual rights on the original Peter Pan.

People remembered that Julia Roberts also played the role of Tinker Bell in the movie Hook in 1991 together with Robin Williams who played as Peter Pan.

Sources said that Tink sees a great major box-office potential like earlier Disney live-action films

Alice in Wonderland and Maleficent and Cinderella.
