Darrellee Revis has no sympathies for his former team.

The cornerback, who returned to the New York Jets on a five-year, $70 million contract signed in March, gave his opinion on deflategate, stating that he was not too surprised to find out that the New England Patriots were involved in a cheating scandal.

"Everybody's blowing it up because it is Tom Brady," Revis said in an interview with the New York Daily News. "I understand that. But if (the NFL) feels he did the crime or he did something and they want to penalize them, then that's that. (The Patriots) have a history of doing stuff. You can't hide that. ... Tom was there when they did that stuff in the past."

Revis added, "New England's been doing stuff in the past and getting in trouble. When stuff repeatedly happens, then that's it. I don't know what else to tell you. Stuff repeatedly happened through the years. You got SpyGate, you got this and that and everything else. Obviously in those situations in the past, they had the evidence. So they did what they needed to do."

Revis, who was a vital part of the Patriots' defense last year, stated that he had no knowledge of any tampering by team employees and Brady.

The NFL investigation into deflategate concluded that two employees purposely deflated the footballs during the AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts. The report conducted by attorney Ted Wells also determined that Brady had knowledge of the activities but did nothing about it.

The Patriots have been fined $1 million and docked two future draft picks, one in 2016 and one in 2017. Owner Robert Kraft has publicly stated that he would not be appealing the punishment. The league also gave Brady a four-game suspension, which the quarterback and Super Bowl MVP has appealed.

Revis believes that Brady's appeal should only be granted if new evidence that was not covered in the Wells report proves that Brady was innocent.

"If I fail a drug test, then I fail a drug test. If I get a DUI, I get a DUI," Revis said. "If Tom gets caught with a DUI, it's a DUI... If they are saying that he did what he's done, then the suspension is the suspension. I'm not the commissioner and don't make the rules. If they want to change (the suspension) based on new information or new evidence, then okay, but it should have nothing to do with Tom being the face (of the NFL)."

The former teammates could face each other when the Patriots play the Jets Oct. 25.
