Amanda Seyfried admits that she is still continuously struggling with anxiety even with her experience being in showbiz for years now.

In an interview with Vogue for this June's issue, the 29-year old actress talked about stage fright especially with her new project, her first ever involvement in stage acting in the play "The Way We Get By."

"There's a layer of insecurity that this brings out, of course, but I am trying to throw it away. Although I can't, really, because insecurity, a little bit of it, is always important for any actor. These people have been doing this for years and years, so I really feel like an amateur. And I am-at least in this medium, which is like a whole other planet," she said during the interview.

The play is written by Neil LaBute who is labeled as "American theater's reigning misanthrope" who thinks that Seyfried has made the right choice in joining the project. She also works with the director, Leigh Silverman.

Seyfried's anxiety issues has surfaced once in an interview with David Letterman back in 2012.

According to Mail Online, the actress came to the show 'pretty drunk' from a few shots of whisky that she had to gain more confidence in facing the cameras.

'It made it fun for me, but then I watched it and was like 'That is not what I want to promote about myself.''

After that incident, the Mean Girls actress admitted to have seek counselling in addressing her anxiety.

"I have a lot of anxiety that I've been struggling with my whole life. So I have been working through it. I'm terrified, but this is exactly what I wanted."

Amanda Siegfried will star along with The Newsroom's Thomas Sadoski whom she will have an intimate sex scene after a wedding reception where they first meet.

"The Way We Get By" premieres on May 19, Fox News reports.
