Lindsay Lohan missed the first day of her community service in the Duffield Children's Centre in Brooklyn as she is said to lack the paper works to formally start the activity, Mirror reports.

"She will be doing her community service with us, she will not be here today. There are some things that need to be managed before she can start her community service," Ivonne Lopez, the facility's director of early childhood programmes in the preschool told the media.

"She needs to be cleared," she further said.

Reps for the 28-year old actress also confirmed this saying that they also have to provide standard documents including a medical clearance before the actress can start doing the services.

However, New York Times viewed these reasons are mere 'excuses' trying to explain the actress' tardiness. One source is also filled with disbelief and was left 'speechless' as the Mean Girls star has openly shared in social media that she had already arrived in New York as early as Monday.

"Happy to be home in nyc with my family and friends. Missed this place.
