Ladies those super-glam photos posted on the web may land a date that does not trust you, a new study claims.

Researcher at Connecticut University showed through a recent study that men did not trust women who posted enhanced photos to find dates but were willing to go on a date, indicating that attractiveness won over trust. For women however, enhanced photos of potential dates not only upped attraction but also increased trustworthiness, Business Standard reports.

Researchers showed photos to 305 people aged between 17 and 36. They were then asked to remark on the attractiveness, trustworthiness and their intention to date the person in the picture they see.

"Our research also found that males found the beautified profile as more attractive and had a higher desire to date the person in the picture despite the lower degree of trustworthiness they reported," The Economic Times quoted the authors.

"This finding provides an empirical highlight to the concept of cat-fishing and the larger phenomena surrounding online dating in which it is both normal and acceptable for individuals' to mislead or deceive their potential suitors," the authors added.
