Fans were ecstatic when ABC announced it has renewed several hit shows that included "Scandal," "Agent Carter," "Castle, "Agents of SHIELD," "Secrets and Lies," "Nashville," "How to Get Away with Murder" and "Grey's Anatomy." The network will also be renewing its comedies, "Modern Family" and "Blackish."

Overall, ABC renewed 22 shows and canceled four. The four unlucky series were "Forever," "Cristela," "Resurrection" and "Revenge."

On top of these minor changes to the ABC lineup, rumors are circulating that ABC and Marvel are stalling the production of an "Agents of SHIELD" spinoff show that was being developed on the down low by executive producer Jeffrey Bell and co-executive producer Paul Zbyszewski, Deadline reported.

The spinoff was supposed to star Adrianne Palicki as Barbara "Bobbi" Morse (Mockingbird) and Nick Blood as Lance Hunter. These two characters joined "Agents of SHIELD" in season 2. Fans were reportedly not happy that these two strong and new characters would be leaving the series so soon.

Deadline wrote, "S.H.I.E.L.D. fans have been divided by the spinoff, and there had been some backlash to the idea of taking some of the strongest new characters on S.H.I.E.L.D. away from the mothership series."

When the stories about a spinoff show surfaced, many believed that "Agent Carter," which had very low ratings, would be axed. However, ABC decided to stick with "Agent Carter."

ABC has picked up "The Muppets," "The Real O'Neals," "Dr. Ken," "Wicked City, "Of Kings and Prophets," "Quantico," "The Catch" and "The Family."
