Jeremy Renner did not change his mind, one month, after calling Black Widow 'a slut.' In Monday's interview with Conan O'Brien, the actor reiterates his line that had caused frenzy among Marvel fans.

"Yeah, it was a joke. Off-colored. Whatever. I'm unapologetic about a lot of things, but I got into a lot of internet trouble. Because that's a thing now, you can get in," Renner told Conan O'Brien in an interview promoting Avengers: Age Of Ultron, EW reports.

He continued explaining how he come up with such outrageous comment saying that Black Widow (played by Scarlett Johansson) had been linked to several male Avengers characters including Captain America and Hawkeye in the earlier Avengers movies. And now, in Age of Ultron, she engages in a possible romantic involvement with The Hulk's normal self, Bruce Banner.

"Mind you, I was talking about a fictional character and fictional behavior. But, Conan, if you slept with four of the six Avengers, no matter how much fun you had, you'd be a slut. I'd be a slut," he said.

Last month, Jeremy Renner and Chris Evans issued a public apology after their joking comments against Black Widow created a furor online.

Morning Gawker remembered the 43-year old actor's words saying, "I am sorry that this tasteless joke about a fictional character offended anyone. It was not meant to be serious in any way. Just poking fun during an exhausting and tedious press tour."

According to Yahoo News, Black Widow is the most prominent female character in the Avengers movie franchise and thus calling her 'a slut' is dismaying to fans who considered her as role model.

"And now her co-star is calling her a slut, reducing a nuanced and powerful character to nothing more than her body parts. For female Marvel fans, that's painful," Gwen Watkins said in her column.

Meanwhile, Mark Ruffalo wished Marvel could come up with new ways to feature Black Widow.

In a Twitter post, he said: "@Marvel we need more #BlackWidow merchandise for my daughters and nieces. Pretty please."
