Google+ is reportedly launching a new feature called Collections, which will let users share their interests. The feature sounds eerily similar to Pinterest.

The feature was first spotted by DroidLife which described the collections feature as "part Pinterest, part blogging."

Citing unnamed sources, DroidLife reported that the new Google+ feature will enable users to "create collections of photos, links, and videos, or follow other users' collections."

The feature is in private beta right now and there's not any official words from the company regarding its release to general public.

Meanwhile, Pinterest has launched a beta version of the Pinterest Developers Platform, a suite of APIs for developers to build apps and integrations that bring Pins to life.

"On Pinterest, people have saved over 50 billion Pins. As a developer, you'll have the chance to build something that makes those Pins a reality, like apps for ordering ingredients from a recipe Pin or booking trips based on travel Pins," the service announced the feature on its blog.
