Princess Diana's close friend, Rosa Monckton, remembered the late monarch when Prince William and Kate Middleton gave birth to baby number 2. In a social media post, Monckton said that the late monarch would have been happy to receive her new grandkid as she loves to have a granddaughter.

"How Diana would have loved a grand daughter," Princess Di's confidante posts on Twitter on Saturday as reported by People.

This disability activist has reportedly been outspoken about the late monarch's preferences. In 2013, when Prince George gave birth to his firstborn child, Monckton, in an essay published in Mail Online, fondly remembers the late princess of Wales as somebody with 'strong maternal instincts' who would have relished the role of grandmother."

In the article, she recalled a personal experience when she had her first pregnancy at 38 and Princess Diana following her pregnancy very closely asking about her preparations about her baby's delivery.

"She would have been the most magnificent grandmother and it makes me ineffably sad she will not be a part of the royal baby's life," Monckton wrote in her essay.

Other sources cannot also help but remember Princess Di in this momentous occasion when Prince William and Kate Middleton welcomes the second member of their family.

An article in Music Times discussed whether Prince William and Princess Kate would consider naming their new baby girl after the late monarch's name.

The source, however, argued that Queen Elizabeth is most likely to object using the late monarch's first name.

Sources from the Palace also believe that William and Kate may be choosing among names like Alice, with Charlotte, Alexandra, Victoria and Elizabeth.
