Zayn Malik's departure from One Direction has gotten more real. The British singer has removed all content related to One Direction from his Twitter account.

Malik's handle, which used to be @zaynmalik1D, is now @zaynmalik. The change obviously did not go unnoticed by One Direction fans. Shortly after the handle changed, #YouWillAlwaysBeZaynMalik1D was trending worldwide.

He also deleted this line from his profile, "Just close your eyes and enjoy the roller coaster that is life," as well as a link to One Direction's website.

Malik addressed his new profile with this tweet:

He also responded to a fan who asked why he changed his name. Malik reportedly tweeted, "Because 1D is not in my name, it's in my heart."

With the change to his profile and the leaked release of a solo track, Malik's return to the boy band is highly unlike. For the time being, fans can enjoy One Direction's old songs.

Fans can also mentally live in an alternative universe, as described by Stephen Hawking.

Hawking said, according to Entertainment Weekly, "My advice to any heartbroken young girl is to pay attention to the study of theoretical physics because, one day, there may well be proof of multiple universes. It would not be beyond the realms of possibility that somewhere outside of our own universe lies another, different universe and, in that universe, Zayn is still in One Direction."
