Chris Evans, who portrays the virtuous Captain America, has voiced his thoughts on the superhero's virginity while promoting "Avengers: Age of Ultron."

In the on-set interview published by Entertainment Weekly, Evans, 33, stated that in "Captain America: Civil War," which comes out in 2016, Captain America, aka Steve Rogers, will finally get to be in "a relationship with a woman."

Evans then added, with a chuckle, "It's funny when you think about it-he's probably a virgin. He's probably a virgin! I don't know when it would've happened." Maybe one of those [dancing] girls blew his mind. He's probably just a good guy. He was probably holding out for Peggy Carter [Hayley Atwell] and he's a little more old-fashioned in that sense."

Aside from talking about Captain America's sex life, Evans also talked about Captain America's role as a member of the Avengers and how he has adopted the role of leader.

"I think he's trying to be. I don't think he's aggressively barking orders at people, but I think when you have all these powers and abilities, someone needs to steer the ship. So I think that is what he's trying to do," Evans said.

In another interview, Evans also revealed that filming for "Captain America: Civil War" will start in a couple of weeks and shoot until August or September. Filming for "Avengers: Infinity War" part one will start in the fall or winter of 2016.

"Avengers: Age of Ultron" hits theaters on May 1.
