Everybody Loves Raymond child star Sawyer Sweeten took his own life at 19 years old by ending his own life in his family's house in Texas on Thursday.

According to Time, the Sweeten family released a statement sadly announcing the death of a young family member.

"This morning a terrible family tragedy has occurred. We are devastated to report that our beloved brother, son, and friend, Sawyer Sweeten, took his own life."

"He was weeks away from his 20th birthday. At this sensitive time, our family requests privacy and we beg of you to reach out to the ones you love," the official announcement from the Sweetens family said.

Sawyer Sweeten got his first acting job at a tender age of 16 months with his role as Geoffrey Barone in the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond from 1996 to 2005. He is seen with his twin brother for the role. The CBS series starred Ray Romano as their onscreen father in the oddball family from Long Island.

With him in the show is his sister Madylin who played Romano's on-screen daughter Ally Barone.

Reports from The Hollywood Reporter said that the actor shot himself on their front porch while he is with his family in Texas. Reasons that motivate him to do such desperate acts were not known.

In a Facebook post, Madylin Sweeten aired her feelings about the tragic incident saying, "At this time I would like to encourage everyone to reach out to the ones you love. Let them have no doubt of what they mean to you," The Guardian reports.

Patricia Heaton, who played Sweeten's on-screen mother, express her condolences on Twitter saying, "Sawyer Sweeten was a funny and exceptionally bright young man. He is gone from us far too soon."
