Marvel's Daredevil has officially been renewed for a second season and will return to Netflix.

The show follows the classic Marvel superhero, chronicling his origin story through flashbacks and detailing his rise from vigilante status to full-fledged guardian of Hell's Kitchen.

The show is darker than other Marvel projects than other series out there, and this series gives viewers the chance to see repercussions from other Marvel movies.

"Daredevil" is the first of five planned Marvels series at Netflix. Marvel characters Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist will all get their own shows before uniting along with Daredevil in a "Defenders" series.

Production is currently underway on "Marvel's A.K.A. Jessica Jones," starring Krysten Ritter, for a premiere later this year, while "Luke Cage" is currently in the pre-production stage.

The show has received positive reviews. "With tight adherence to its source material's history, high production quality, and a no-nonsense dramatic flair, Daredevil excels as an effective superhero origin story, a gritty procedural, and an exciting action adventure," says review site Rotten Tomatoes.

The show is a Marvel Television and ABC Studios production. It also stars Rosario Dawson, Vincent D'Onofrio and Deborah Ann Woll.
