Whenever there's a mention of driverless car, we happen to think of companies like Tesla and Google. However, NASA might have just trumped these names as it unveiled is new Modular Robotic Vehicle Prototype.

The MRV, developed by NASA's engineers at the Johnson Space Center is a futuristic EV that could serve the test bed for future rovers and other things.

The car can operate by itself, remotely or by a person in a driver's seat. The battery powered car is about the size of a golf cart and can reach speeds of 40 miles per hour. The curb weight is 2,000 pounds and it measures 7 feet by 5 feet.

One of the coolest feature of the car is that all four wheels are independent modules and are able to rotate in so that car can drive sideways.
