Seattle Seahawks starting quarterback Russell Wilson hints to the possibility of becoming a two-sport athlete. The 2014 Super Bowl champ said that he has not given up on his dream of playing baseball professionally.

"You never want to kill the dream of playing two sports," Wilson said to HBO's Bryant Gumbel. "I would honestly play two sports."

When asked what was stopping him from achieving this goal, Wilson said, " I don't know. I may push the envelope a little bit one of these days."

Although Wilson might want to be a two-sport athlete, accomplishing that feat is highly unlikely, especially since Wilson is a starting quarterback.

"It's just not realistic to think a franchise quarterback could spend his spring and summer playing baseball while his teammates are going through Organized Team Activities, minicamp and training camp," Michael David Smith with Pro Football Talk wrote. "But if Wilson is looking for leverage in negotiating a long-term contract with the Seahawks, he's smart to mention baseball. By reminding the Seahawks that he has other options, Wilson is telling them they can't get away with lowballing him and keeping him in Seattle on the franchise tag if he doesn't sign a long-term deal. Wilson has another option."

However, based on the rumors, Wilson does not have to worry about the contract that the Seahawks plan on offering him. According to these claims, Wilson might be getting the most lucrative deal in the league. The deal would surpass Green Bay Packers Aaron Rodgers's $22 million a year salary.

If Wilson does get a massive contract, his dreams of playing baseball will have to take a back seat.

During his college years at NC State, Wilson batted .282 in three seasons with five home runs and 30 RBIs. He was selected in the fourth round of the 2010 MLB draft by the Colorado Rockies and played two years in the minors. Wilson made an appearance at spring training with the Texas Rangers this year. During batting practice, Wilson showed off his power by hitting a home run.
