Lil Wayne has not dropped his lawsuit against Cash Money. Instead, the rapper has re-filed his $51 million lawsuit from New York to New Orleans, LA, Lil Wayne's lawyer Ron Sweeney confirmed to Rolling Stone.

"We gave them until [Monday], April 6th to file an answer," Sweeney explained. "[Cash Money] said they were going to challenge the venue, so at that point, it was a waste of time and money, so we all agreed that we would dismiss the action [in New York] and Wayne and Young Money [his record label] would re-file in New Orleans."

Lil Wayne originally signed with Cash Money Records in 1998 in New Orleans. Lil Wayne filed the lawsuit in January. He claimed that Cash Money Records and its CEO Bryan "Birdman" Williams delayed the release of his album, "The Carter V" and refused to pay him money for the last two albums that Lil Wayne recorded.

The rapper's legal team also released this statement:

"Lil Wayne and Young Money LLC have entered into a stipulation with Cash Money the effect of which is to transfer the claims raised in the action which had been commenced in the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York to the Federal and/or State Courts of Louisiana.

The claims previously asserted by Lil Wayne and Young Money LLC against Cash Money for substantial monies owed and breach of fiduciary duty have not been settled and will be prosecuted in Louisiana as expeditiously as possible."

Lil Wayne is not the only rapper to have problems with Cash Money. Canadian rapper Drake has rapped about financial issues with the label as well on his mixtape, "If You're Reading This It's Too Late."

Cash Money's lawyer did not comment on the case. It is unknown how the change in location will affect the timeframe of the case.

Lil Wayne is working on the release of "The Free Weezy Album." He released his mixtape "Sorry 4 the Wait 2" back in January.
