By adopting an accepting attitude, you could reduce your exasperation and frustration, which will not flag your cognitive energy, but make your moods more stable and healthy, shows research in Southwest University of China, according to indianexpress.

As life is full of goals that have not been met---right from desires regarding the dating of your loved ones, to marrying, getting your desired results and jobs---there are bound to many failures, problems and frustration.

"Thus, the effective coping of frustration is of vital importance to human life, both social functioning and health. The acceptance has proven useful in mitigating the long-term consequence of negative events," said Jiajin Yuan, associate professor of psychology in Southwest University.

Hence, going with a tough task along with adequate feedback can inject the required emotions that remove frustration. However, the results also confirmed that conscious efforts at acceptance of frustrating emotions can lead to short-term reduction in positive effects.

The experiment involved asked the participants to select four out of five words, "one of which is semantically related to 'acceptance', to make up a proper sentence."

This strategy encouraged people to adopt an accepting, observing, non-judgmental attitude to frustrating emotions, rather than trying to avoid or modify them.

Accepting negative emotions might enhance "immediate unpleasant feelings", even though it improves health in the long run.

"Also, exercising acceptance entails dropping our natural, instinctual responses to frustration, but instead makes us learn to accept whatever we experience. Obviously, this process is costly and effortful," Yuan added.

Such experiments would lead to improving early education in helping people learn to cope with frustration.
